- Notes: The manuscript consists of 32 typed pages and is heavily annotated on each page by bellow in black ink. With a half-sheet of personal letterhead on which he has written: ''"I give this manuscript of A Silver Dish to my dear friend Samuel S. Goldberg of New York, and even better places. Saul Bellow." The work was Bellow''s first piece of fiction published since receiving the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1976.
