Portfolio entitled Berenice Abbott's New York IV. Complete with 12 of Abbott's iconic New York street views. Silver prints, the images measuring approximately 15½x19 3/8 inches (39.4x49.2 cm.), and slightly smaller, and the reverse, the mounts 30x24 inches (76.2x61 cm.), each with Abbott's block-lettered signature and edition notation 37/60 in pencil on mount recto, and her New York Portfolio stamp on mount verso. Folio-sized brown cloth clamshell box; with the printed title page and colophon; contents loose as issued. ONE OF AN EDITION OF 60 NUMBERED AND 5 LETTERED COPIES.   • Condition: Berenice Abbott's portfolio "New York IV" is in excellent condition. The prints are contrasty and rich, with crisp, fine detail, and a bright, clear presentation. Upon close examination in strong, raking light the surfaces are clean, without any visible imperfections.

    Each print on a crisp white mount, mostly clean and bright, some lightly soiled. Each with Abbott's block-lettered signature and edition notation 37/60, in pencil, on mount recto.

    The brown cloth clamshell box shows signs of soil and handling, and the plate list is missing. Otherwise, the general presentation is clean and neat.

    An exceptional collection of images from one of the great photographers of the 20th century.
