Beginning in 1922, Norddeutscher Lloyd put the first of four Sierra-class ships into service. They primarily ran the South American routes, but occasionally operated between Europe and America. Here, Steiner pays so much attention to the fashionable people on board that it is almost hard to tell whether the poster is advertising a shipping company or a fashion store.
