Folio, 410x272 mm, contemporary panelled calf over wooden boards with metal catches and crude lozenge-shaped centerpieces, rebacked retaining most of worn original backstrip with later leather lettering pieces, lacking clasps and bottom portion of leather on front cover. London: Robert Barker, 1611
- Notes: first edition of the king james bible, with "he" in Ruth 3:15. Herbert 309. first eighteen leaves supplied from a shorter "she" bible, with ink blot and small hole through last number of date on general title page, E1 and F1-2 possibly supplied from another copy, portion torn off bottom of 2S2 with text loss, hole through running head on 4R1, some dampstaining toward end, marginal restoration on approximately the last 25 leaves with varying degrees of text loss, lacks last 4 leaves (Revelation 17:13-21:21); still generally quite clean internally, with good margins.
