Folio, title page printed within woodcut compartment with date in the top opening with a mermaid at the bottom over "God save the Queene"; text in two columns in gothic type, missing 3 text leaves: Kkk4 & 5 and Ooo1; bound in 18th century half calf with marbled paper boards; contents worn and somewhat tattered with stains, holes and tears; 10 3/4 x 7 1/2 in.

Work on the Bishop's Bible translation was overseen by Matthew Parker (1504-1575),  Archbishop of Canterbury and key member of the team that wrote the Thirty-Nine Articles. The section offered here begins with the Psalms, and includes Ecclesiastes, Proverbs, the Canticles and the 16 prophets from Esai through Malachi.
