Nuremberg, 1599 All published of Hutter's polyglot Old Testament, complete through the book of Ruth. Four varieties of this edition occur, with either a Slovenian, Italian, French, or Low German version printed in the sixth column. The Hebrew text is printed in Hutter's square type, using hollow letters to indicate inflections. According to Dibin (Introduction, pages xx-xxii), this edition "... ranks among the scarcest books in bibliography. Copies of the Old Test. are scarcer than those of the New." Darlow & Moule 1427. With the early 19th-century stamp of the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek, Munich (duplicate); and the signature of the Philadelphia physician John Redmond Coxe (1773-1864).
