Hand-colored engraved and aquatint plate from the elephant folio edition, 310x490 mm, margins folded at one point to fit a frame, with very ample remaining margins present but either loose or coming loose; several very small spots of foxing on the image (easily removed); watermarked "J Whatman / Turkey Mills / 1834." - Notes: A perfectly lovely plate despite the folding of the margins. The plate is on the smaller scale for Audubon and a former owner decided it would frame better if the entire extent of the margins were not shown.
