First edition, large quarto, illustrated with folding frontispiece of the unnamed twenty-foot launch that saved Bligh and his company when ejected from the Bounty by Fletcher Christian; with three engraved charts (of which two are folding), bound in full contemporary speckled calf with handsome original label (front joint cracked, board nearly detached); with armorial bookplates of two different John Peyto Verney's Lord Willoughby de Broke, 18th and 19th century; ownership inscription of A. W. Bagley dated 1925; and C.J.E. Ritter, also likely 20th century; 11 1/2 x 8 1/2 in.
