- Notes: Long attributed to Bodmer, the map was probably executed by cartographer William Thorn based on Tanner's 1837 map of the U. S. It is unclear which edition of Maximilian's Travels this copy is extracted from, but the map was not reissued with the rest of the plates in the Leipzig edition in the 1920s.
