- Notes: letter l of only 26 copies signed by boyle and ford with an original leaf of manuscript by expatriate author stearns. Boyle met Stearns in 1928 at the Select bar on the Boulevard du Montparnasse. The hero in her novel Monday Night, an alcoholic newspaperman wandering around Paris in search of a story, is a character she admittedly based on Stearns.
