In addition to the main sequence of 21 auction catalogues it includes those for the sales of 2 June 1908; 15 December 1908; 24 February 1910; 10 June 1914; 24 January 1917 (in New York, comprising duplicates from the Britwell collection of Americana acquired en bloc by Henry E. Huntington); 29 April 1918; and 27 July 1922. "The Britwell library as a collection of old English books [was] the greatest ever brought together by a private individual. In many respects it rivalled or even surpassed the British Museum"--De Ricci, page 113.
