(BROADSIDE.) [St. John, Samuel.] American Taxation.
Letterpress broadside poem containing 36 four-line stanzas with text in 2 columns. Folio; paper loss to the upper right corner not affecting text, tears in the bottom margin repaired; tissue-backed. Np, circa 1812?
- Notes: According to Evans, who examined the Boston Public Library copy, this broadside was first printed in Hartford in 1783. Bristol, however, identifies the BPL copy as a later printing. The present copy is printed on wove paper and the typeface is clearly not from the 18th-century. It seems likely that it is a patriotic piece printed during the War of 1812. Evans 18174.
