- Notes: College yearbook Signed by Bunche in 1927. The yearbook states that Bunche was chosen to represent the University in a debate called the "Peace Contest." Bunche is also pictured on the basketball and debating teams. Bunche (1903-1971) is best known for his role in the formation and early years of the United Nations. In 1950, he won the Nobel Peace Prize for his mediation culminating in the truce between the Arabs and Israelis.
