- Notes: "Many thanks for the notes. The misprints (as the Academy points out) are the years 1642 for 1649 and 1689 for 1659. My wife has been laid up for three days with sore throat and (they say) 36 lodgers have suffered from the same. Mrs. [?] swears she won''t stand it. I have had a touch of gout--and so on. We hope that you have shaken off the effects of dissippation [sic] at Geneva and that Mrs. Montgomery has no cause to complain. All send greetings . . . R. F. Burton."
