Includes a feature on "Night Club Map of Harlem" artist Elmer Simms Campbell (page 6), a profile of Poro College founder Annie Malone (page 15); a page on local girl Josephine Baker (page 17); a note on the city's Negro League baseball teams featuring Oscar Charleston and others (page 46); a Madam C.J. Walker advertisement (page 54); and much more. This copy was inscribed in March 1981 by publisher Young (then aged 87) to Adele Tyre (1951-1988), a groundbreaking local television journalist.
