  • Notes: Archibald Willingham Butt (1865-1912) was a close friend and military aide to Presidents Roosevelt and Taft from 1908 to 1912. He is perhaps better known as a passenger who died aboard the RMS Titanic--on a vacation he took at Taft's insistence.
