Large quarto, illustrated with fifteen plates (including folding frontispiece, folding chart of the voyage, and thirteen others), bound in later half leather, foxing throughout, 10 1/2 x 8 in. London: John Murray, 1826.

  • Notes: First edition. Captain Byron was commissioned to return the bodies of King Kamehameha II and Queen Kamamalu of Hawaii home. They both died of measles while visiting London in 1824. A narrative of the unfortunate visit is included here, along with a description of the journey.
