Bulletin de la Society D'Encouragement pour L'Industrie Nationale. Illustrated with BARON PIERRE ARMAND SEGUIER'S DIAGRAM FOR THE WORLD'S FIRST BELLOWS CAMERA. Slim 4to, printed wrappers, partially unopened, most signatures loose. Paris, 1840 (THE WORLD'S FIRST BELLOWS CAMERA) "Baron Seguier developed this revolutionary design as a response to Daguerre's camera, which he considered too bulky and cumbersome for landscape photography. Seguier's camera featured two sets of bellows, a lens that was reversable for easy storage, and came in a large wooden box that contained all the paraphernalia necessary for sensitizing and developing daguerreotype plates. This publication of Seguier's plans constituted the first official announcement of his new design. This volume also contains an article regarding" HIPPLOLYTE BAYARD'S "process for obtaining a direct positive image on paper in the camera, a report on" DAGUERRE'S ""Perfectionnements Ajoutes Au Daguerreotype," and an article on M. Berri's "Procede Photogenique."".
