    Further information:
Translation of a portion of the article: "When we arrived there, the famous José Antonio Fernández de Castro, a folklore writer and critic, the Italian engineer Murato, the Japanese painter Foujita, and the French journalist Desnós were already settled on the comfortable couches. They were all interested in seeing the black women dance rumba, but not the theatrical and fake rumba seen on stage, but the real thing, the one born in the tropics, honored by the rays of the sun and the African atmosphere."

"Tristan Manof, a notoriously influential writer who recently mobilized the entire American intelligentsia at the prospect of being shot due to political character issues he had been involved in in Bolivia, is preparing a book of chronicles in his retreat in Córdoba, Argentina. The book, entitled 'Men and Women of America,' which will be published in three months, contains this exquisite chronicle of 'A Havana Night.' Because it refers to personalities well known to our reading public, because it is a preview offered by the notable intellectual to his Cuban readers, and because it contains a wonderful picture of the true, lilac, typical, unique Cuban rumba; we are inserting the aforementioned work in our pages."
