CARUSO, ENRICO. Two Autograph Letters Signed, in full or "Caruso," to editor of the Piedigrotta magazine Luigi Pane ("Dear Luigi" or "Dear Doctor"), in Italian, The first, reporting that his health is recovered and complaining that he is fed up with London and will be returning to his home in the countryside. The second, thanking him for a newspaper clipping, sending the clipping with his own remarks [present] which he can mail to the author of the article [Carlo?] Barsotti, and explaining that the article questioning his patriotism arose because of his refusal to support a monument to Dante. Each 3 pages, small 8vo, written on a folded sheet of hotel or personal stationery, third page of each written vertically across interior pages. Each with the original envelope.
