Striking sixth-plate daguerreotype of a young woman wearing a bonnet with skillfully hand-tinted flowers; sealed, in a leather case separated at the hinge. 1858 This lovely image is accompanied by two handwritten notes by the woman in the portrait, as well as a lock of her hair. Both notes are fondly addressed to "Kate" and are signed "Amelia." [SEE ILLUSTRATION].
