Mostly pencil on paper, with some color pencils on paper. Various sizes and conditions.

Nanteuil was a French painter, engraver and illustrator closely tied to the Romantic movement in France. He was born in Rome of French parents who were part of Joseph Bonaparte's entourage. He studied in Paris during the 1820s and then worked in the studio of Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres. In 1848, Nanteuil became Director of the Académie des Beaux-Arts, Paris.
