De Panne organised the first sail-cart race as early as the beginning of the century. Currently, every September and October, the world Championships are held in De Panne. Here, along the beach in the guise of a tidal pool, the artist has cleverly super-imposed a map of England and the English Channel, to show travellers how easy it is to reach the beach.
