1) The Effects of Cross and Self Fertilisation in the Vegetable Kingdom, London: John Murray, 1876, first edition, octavo, two copies, errata slip present in each; both bound in full uniform original publisher's green cloth with grayish-brown endleaves; one example becoming decased; the other ex library with Oldham Microscopical Society bookplate dated 1864 inside front board and other instances of the stamp in the text. Freeman 1249.


2) A Monograph of the Sub-class Cirripedia, with Figures of all the Species, London: Printed for the Ray Society, 1851, first edition, octavo, illustrated with 10 full-page engravings bound after the text; bound by Westleys & Co. of Friar Street, London in full dark greenish-blue cloth and matte cream endleaves with blind and gold decoration to front board with R.S. for the Ray Society surrounded by a botanical garland (repeated on back board in blind) and gilt lettering to spine (binding with superficial wear to cloth, textblock solid), top edge gilt. Freeman 339.


3) The Different Forms of Flowers on Plants of the Same Species, London: John Murray, 1877, first edition, octavo, illustrated; ads dated January 1877; bound in publisher's green cloth with dark brown coated endleaves; ex libris British antiquary and physician-reformer who sought better conditions for mentally ill patients, Thomas Nadauld Brushfield (1828-1910), with his  bookplate; binding worn, bumped and shaken. Freeman 1277.


4) The Variation of Animals and Plants under Domestication, New York: Orange Judd & Co., [1868], first American edition, two octavo volumes, with a preface by Asa Gray; a mixed set in publisher's bindings; volume two with library marks including bookplate of Greenfield Library Association, white shelf numbers painted on spine; inner joint of first volume cracked; brown endleaves.
