Jacomb Hood, and Lancelot Speed. 8vo, publisher's original gilt-pictorial cloth, most in very good condition and still bright, some vulnerable spines (like Pink, Red, and Lilac) faded; only Olive Fairy Book in original dust jacket, but most volumes with remnants of the original jackets laid inside front cover; undated prospectus for the books laid into first volume, likely published 1904 as Brown Fairy Book is last mentioned. complete and lovely set of the classic fairy tales created by Lang and his wife Leonora. Titles include Blue, Red, Green, Yellow, Pink, Grey, Violet, Crimson, Brown, Orange, Olive and Lilac.
In the preface of the Green Fairy Book, which was the third, he states that it will probably be the final volume. In the preface of the fourth, The Yellow Fairy Book, he thanks all the children who urged him to create yet another.
