    "To Mart [Crowley] / with my love and / admiration. / Christopher Isherwood / Feb 19 1977." American playwright Mart Crowley is best known for his groundbreaking portrayal of gay life in his 1968 Broadway play The Boys in the Band, later adapted into film by William Friedkin.
