  • Notes: A call to join the March on Washington, in an appeal from Martin Luther King, John Lewis, and 8 other march organizers. It lays out the demands of the marchers and directs them: "You can get information on how to go to Washington by calling civil rights organizations, religious organizations, trade unions, fraternal organizations and youth groups." This was printed in New York but distributed in Chicago, demonstrating the national reach of the event.
