Peterboro [N.H.], 1874 E250/350 FIRST PRINTING of this open-letter broadside, to Douglass on the civil rights bill which had just been voted down, as well as the treatment of colored cadets at West Point. In part: "So Congress has again adjourned without passing the Bill on which our hearts had so long been set The Republican Party has disappointed us. It has failed to redeem some of its solemnly made pledges ." Not found in standard references.
