  • Notes: A rare program and directory for the Ebenezer Baptist Church, and its parishioners from the Sunday that Martin Luther King Jr's mother Alberta Williams King (1904-1974) was assassinated, shot dead while playing the organ. Her assassin was a 23 year-old black man named Marcus Wayne Chenault, who stated that he shot Mrs.King because "all Christians are my enemies." The last two pages of the program, a directory of the parishioners with their names and addresses, has been annotated by another parishioner indicating that most of them had passed away since
