  • Notes: Highlights include:

    Muster-in roll of Captain William Faithful's Company, 13 September 1861.

    "Inventory of the effects of Private James Lynch late of Company B. . . . The said James Lynch died without any effects whatsoever." Concludes with an accounting of pay due. Camp Worman, MD, 18 March 1862.

    Colonel William Maulsby. Certificate for rental of a law office in Frederick, MD as a provost marshal's office, 1 June 1863.

    Report of Sick and Wounded, 16 April 1864.

    Joseph S. Hersey of Company C. Autograph Letter Signed to his wife. Writing shortly after the Battle of New Market, he writes "Our troops are gaining ground on every hand. If they continue a few days longer, it will put a stop to the heaviest fighting." With typed transcript. Noland's Ferry, MD, 15 May 1864.

    Manuscript "Special Orders No. 176" signed by Colonel William Maulsby, charging two civilian employees with "contempt and disrespect toward the commanding officer of the post . . . in a manner calculated to target confusion and interruption," They are "ordered to quit this post, and not to return to the limits thereof." Martinsburg, WV, 13 June 1864.
