  • Notes: "$1,000.00 for $1.00, a Camp Chest Filled with Silver." Letterpress broadside, 12 x 9 1/2 inches; minor toning and wear at edges. An advertisement for the Great Central Fair held to benefit the United States Sanitary Commission. Each visitor could pay a dollar and "vote for their favorite general." The winning general would get a chest filled with a thousand dollars worth of camp silver. Philadelphia: King & Baird, [June 1864].

    Blank illustrated certificate, 7 1/4 x 7 1/2 inches, printed in red, blue, and black; trimmed. "We the subscribers, do hereby agree to support and assist the Government of the United States in its efforts to put down the Rebellion" and "oppose all [persons who are plotting and endeavoring to cripple our Government." [Philadelphia]: T. Sinex, undated.

    Woodcut portrait of Jefferson Davis, 7 x 5 1/2 inches, headed "Southern Rights" and bearing his facsimile signature; mount remnants on verso.

    Linen American flag, 5 x 7 1/2 inches, with 13 stars and no text; scrapbook remnants on recto, so the flag appears in reverse.

    Promotional brochure, 4 pages (6 3/4 x 4 1/4 inches) on one folding sheet, for "The Naval Songster" and "The Yankee Volunteer's Songster," with illustrated color covers on the outer pages, and contents lists on the inner pages; minor foxing. Philadelphia: A. Winch, circa 1862.

    Advertising card for "Patent Magnetic Hammers," 4 1/4 x 5 3/4 inches, printed in black with red and blue overprinting. No place, no date.

    Program, 7 3/4 x 5 inches, for the "Parlor Entertainments for the Benefit of the Great Central Fair at the Soldier's Reading Room" featuring "Dr. Koecker's Soirée Magique"; wrinkled with moderate wear. Philadelphia: King & Baird, 5 May 1864.

    "Plan of the Great Central Fair," 10 1/2 x 5 1/4 inches, including key; engraved by J. Haehnlen.

    3 strips of unused tickets to the Great Central Fair for public school pupils; each 21 x 3 1/2 inches and featuring 10 tickets, each strip with a horizontal fold, each ticket with a date stamp on verso.
