Parsons" in the plate, and signed in pencil by Gustavus Vasa Fox as Assistant Secretary of the Navy, 1864. Not examined outside of mat. New York: Endicott & Co., circa 1864

  • Notes: The USS Onondaga was a double-turreted monitor which was commissioned in March 1864, and spent the remainder of the war on the James River. After the war, she was part of the French navy until 1904.
