(CIVIL WAR.) Lincoln, Abraham. Proclamation of the President of the United States.
BROADSIDE PRINTING OF THE AMNESTY PROCLAMATION (CIVIL WAR.) Lincoln, Abraham. Proclamation of the President of the United States. Broadside, 2 columns of text within a decorative border. Approximately 17 1/2x12 inches; minor chips and foxing, folds. Np: "Printed at the 'Daily Press' Job Office, Corner of Church and Cherry Streets," [1863]
A nice decorative broadside printing of the Amnesty Proclamation. While Burlington, VT has an intersection of Church and Cherry Streets, there is no record of a Daily Press at that location. Wheeling, WV did have a Daily Press Job Office which published between 1861 and 1863, but does not have an intersection of the aforementioned streets. The possibility of it being published in a border state like West Virginia, however, is intriguing.
