(CIVIL WAR.) Pair of patriotic broadsides commemorating the fall of Richmond. Lithographs in red and blue, each about 7 1/2 x 9 1/2 inches; mat toning, minor wear and soiling. (TFC) [Philadelphia] and np, [April 1865?]

  • Notes: The first is titled "The Day is Ours!", and bears the imprint of Philadelphia printers King & Baird. The second is in a different style, and reads "Victory Will Lead to Peace: Richmond Has Fallen!" It bears no imprint. No other copies of either item have been traced in OCLC or in auction records. Provenance: Swann sale, 23 March 1985, lot 312, to the Forbes Collection.
