First edition in English, quarto, title printed in red and black woodcut frontispiece of an ornate armillary sphere bound opposite the title page; 5 volvelles in this work are present, on F3 recto, G1 recto, L1 recto, V1 verso, and Z3 recto, only the first is constructed, in all other cases the parts meant to be trimmed and attached are on their original slips either tipped in or loosely inserted; lacking two text leaves N3 & N4 (pages 92-94); full page plate of the Ptolemaic system bound opposite page 15 (extraneous to collation), other large text woodcut illustrations throughout; bound in older mottled sheep, rebacked; many irrelevant manuscript musings and annotations by 1790s British owner Johannes Wright of Southbrook, England; uncommon at auction; 7 3/8 x 5 1/4 in.
