COIN EXCHANGE TRAY. Fine example of a Tray of Proteus, that allows for the exchange, disappearance, or production of small objects, most often coins. Painted in black with decorations in gilt and highlights in red. 7 3/4x10 1/4 inches (19.5x26 cm). France, circa 1880.
