COLERIDGE, SAMUEL TAYLOR. Autograph Manuscript Signed, "S.T. Coleridge," in pencil, notes concerning a book, written on a leaf probably removed from a copy of the same work. A note, in unknown hand and in pencil, written at lower edge recto, indicates that Coleridge's notes concern Defensio Fidei Nicaenae by Georgio Bullo (Ticini [Pavia], 1784). 1 page, 8vo; moderate foxing at edges, horizontal folds. Np, circa 1805

  • Notes: "Bought this work at Catania October 2, 1805. I finished the careful perusal of this volume, at Messina, 12 Oct. . . . , having read in the same time the Pastor Fido. Heaven knows I need to lose myself in Thoughts and Subjects the most remote from my existing circumstances, baffled as I am daily, detained, & almost hopeless of arriving in England this year. The miserum!"
