extremely scarce first edition by the multi-talented Hudson River School artist. A successful painter who studied under Asher B. Durand, Colman became an accomplished etcher, publisher, interior decorator, and was a known expert and collector of Asian art and porcelain. His only other authored work was Proportional Form.
