Set of 72 pure silver commemorative medals [all issued]. Each medal weighs 1 troy ounce. Various sculptors. Housed in 2 large albums with small identifying metal plaques opposite each medal. SHOULD BE SEEN. Philadelphia, (1970-1971) One of 1000 sets issued by the American Negro Commemorative Society of Philadelphia. An attractive set of major African-American figures in all fields. "The Colonial Past," "The 19th Century," and "The Roaring Twenties." Although the albums were made to hold 100 medals, only 72 were issued. In entering these medals into the 2 albums, the original owner did not do so in chronological order. Therefore, certain later figures might precede earlier ones.
