(CONNECTICUT.) Thurlow, E.; et. al. The Susquehannah Case. 24 pages. 8vo, disbound; title chipped, insect damage to the terminal 5 leaves with some loss to text; early owner's signatures and numerical notations on the title. [Norwich, 1774]
- Notes: Scarce pamphlet discussing the boundaries of Connecticut derived from their charter of 1662, signed at the end in print by E. Thurlow, A. Wedderburn, R. Jackson, and J. Dunning. According to Sabin, the work was actually prepared by Governor Jonathan Trumbull to accompany another work on the subject issued that year. The rival claims to the land in northeastern Pennsylvania led to the Yankee-Pennamite Wars. Connecticut eventually withdrew their claims, pacified in part by the reward of the Western Reserve. Evans 18971 (incorrectly dating the pamphlet to 1773); Sabin 93936; Brinley Sale 2127; Vail 636 (known only to him by the Brinley copy).
