  • Notes: first english edition, first printing with page 187 marked as 871. Begun as a short story for serialization, "Nostromo" became Conrad's longest and most complicated work. The production of the book caused him an amount of stress so great that he never again published with Harper in England, though the American branch would continue to publish his works in the U.S.. 12d.
