- Notes: first edition of one of the cornerstone books of the Harlem Renaissance. Jessie Redmond Fauset's copy, with her ownership signature dated 1926 on the front endpaper. Fauset is represented in this volume by her story "The Gift of Laughter." She is best known for her novel The Chinaberry Tree. A Blockson 101 title.
