Cox stands in front of an orchestra bandstand with a design of musical notes across it, continued on the mat; few unobtrusive creases. 9 x 7 inches, matted and framed. Np, circa 1928-30 E300/400 "With best wishes to a very smart little girl, Ida Cox." Cox was one of the most famous blues singers of her day, easily on a par with Bessie Smith and singing in much the same Delta Blues style. She, with her "Vaudeville Band," was signed to Columbia Records by legendary producer John Hammond in the mid 1930s. [SEE ILLUSTRATION]
