  • Notes: Andrew and Abby Borden were brutally murdered at their home in Fall River, Massachusetts in 1892. Their daughter Lizzie Borden was widely believed to be guilty, but in the June 1893 trial in nearby New Bedford, prosecutors were not able to present enough evidence to convince the jurors. She returned to Fall River and lived until 1927.
