Etched and woodcut illustrations by Cruikshank, including 4 hand-colored folding plates in the final four issues as called for, one plate repaired (1849). 19 parts in 10. 12mo and 16mo, contemporary tan calf over marbled boards with red and green morocco gilt spine labels, by Riviere and Son, top edges gilt; bound without advertisements or inserts, scattered light edgewear but still attractive, a few small chips to lettering labels.   • Notes: a finely bound and complete set of these delightful almanacs. With contributions by Thackeray, A'Beckett, Mayhew, and others. The 1839 issue contains the first appearance of Thackeray's "Stubbs' Calendar; or, the Fatal Boots."
