Octavo, illustrated with text woodcuts, and extra-illustrated with added engraved frontispiece, a plate in seven compartments by N. Parr, representing scenes relative to Newgate, and one other engraved plate showing a woman being attacked by a bear with two others trying to defend her with sticks; identified by the printer on last page as the seventh edition; imprint date based on the 1761 edition, self-described as the 6th, and the British Book Trade Index which give trade dates of 1760-1790 for Sympson at the address in the imprint; bound in later half leather and marbled paper boards; 6 3/4 x 4 1/4 in.

Not in Moore; ESTC N32077, locating 3 U.S. holdings, 2 at Boston Public Library and one at the Rosenbach.
