Hockney (born 1937) drew his close friend, curator Henry Geldzahler for this intimate lithograph. Other sitters who were drawn for the Friends portfolio include Gregory Evans, model Joe MacDonald, actress and writer Brooke Hopper, and director Billy Wilder. Geldzahler and Hockney met in 1963 in Andy Warhol's studio. Scottish Arts Council 197.
