First edition, quarto, woodcut diagrams in the text; printer's mark on title, along with old ownership inscription that has been struck out; bound in full contemporary parchment over boards; rare at auction; 8 3/4 x 6 1/4 in.

Origanus taught Greek and math at his alma mater, Viadrina University in Frankfurt, Germany. His interest in astronomy was also a guiding force in his work. He published Ephemerides and his observations of comets. In the present work, he creates astrological charts for famous contemporaries and ancients; he describes how the stars influence a myriad of personality traits, diseases, birth defects, and more.
