Bronze, circa 1960-70. 170 mm; 7 inches (height). Incised with the artist's initials and numbered 4/12 on one side.

Hubbard (1935-2009) was born in New York and studied at Harvard University, Cambridge, Massachusetts, then in New York with Andreas Feininger. She emigrated to England in the 1960s and trained with the sculptor Elisabeth Frink (1930-1993) and at Chelsea College of Art, London. She exhibited widely in England, including shows at the Royal Academy, London, Royal Glasgow Institute of the Fine Arts, National Museum of Wales, Cardiff, Usher Gallery, Lincoln, Camden Arts Centre, London and the Royal West of England Academy.
