Begun by the Caledonian Railway, which was folded into the LMS in 1923, The Gleneagles Hotel, which had its own railway station, was known as the "Riviera of the Highlands" when it first opened for business in 1924. The magnificient structure is viewed here in her glorious natural setting in Perthshire, over one of her two golf courses.
